About Leather
Leather is a natural material which may change its colour, get softer, and acquire a patina over time. It should be protected from humidity, overexposure to light or heat.
Each leather has its signature natural texture, marks, and wrinkles so that every item is unique. Additionally, each genuine hide has a unique pattern and the scale patterns shown may differ from the final products. There are smaller and larger scales and the exact cut may also differ from the images shown on the website.
Colours may also have shade variations. Even with the same colour, the colour might still show slight difference due to leather treatment and dyeing processes. Screen setting of different devices may also cause shade variations.
All skins are ethically sourced and are regulated under CITES.
Leather care
1. Avoid Heat
Why is it important to avoid heats such as sunlight?
- Excessive heat can damage the delicate texture and finish of exotic leather.
- Direct heat and cause leather to dry out and crack, warp, or lose its luster.
- Colour might change or fade when exposed to prolonged sunlight.
Why is it important to avoid moisture?
- Exotic skin is sensitive to moisture.
- Natural oils presenting in the leather can be damaged by water, leading to cracking, warping, and discolouration.
3. Avoid Oil
- Oil can penetrate exotic skin and alter its natural surface, leading to a change in colour and sheen.
- Oil can cause staining, which may be difficult or impossible to remove.
